Life drawing is about looking at another human being and drawing the essence of what we see and experience in front of us. it is an intimate process. There is an exploration and search for the physical form, the edge of a thigh, or space between chest and armpit.
The nude male figure invites us to look and explore as though we have stumbled across a private space and appreciate the human figure with all it’s physical, emotional and sexual tensions. Life drawing is an exploratory process that evolves through the drawing process.
The dialogue of a figure emerges from the picture surface through the dialogue between model and artist. The battles an artist has with drawing or painting the figure and how to convey more than just a representation of the energy is part of what these life drawing workshops are all about.

Models show off, surrender, get aroused, provoke and enjoy being the centre of attention. The energy emitting from them is felt by those who come to draw
To do this in solo with a model is one thing, but to share the experience of a life male model with other creative people binds a shared experience with other creative gay men in a supportive space on a regular basis is unique in London. The groups are inclusive and open to all gay men regardless of their experience or competence with figure drawing. The energy in the drawings made in each session is reflected in appraisals at the end of each session and the shared experience is reinforced.
